The Project
HESSAD is a web platform for CubeSat mission design. Students, startups, and researchers define a satellite mission - form factor (1U to 6U), orbit class (LEO, MEO, GEO), altitude, inclination, and beta angle - and the platform computes the orbital physics live: orbital period, velocity, sunlit and eclipse durations, eclipse fraction, and solar flux. Those numbers feed directly into hybrid energy-system modules, benchmarked against real reference missions like QB50, MOVE-II, and NASA/JPL's INSPIRE.
HESSAD needed two things from us: a brand identity that could stand alongside serious aerospace tools, and a website that could present dense engineering data without overwhelming the user.
The Logo
The mark is a CubeSat rendered with photorealistic solar cells, wrapped in a mint-green orbit ring with a four-point star highlight - engineering subject matter treated with brand-level polish. The wordmark uses a wide, technical letterform with the "A" picked out in the brand green, separated from the descriptor line by a lightning-bolt divider that nods to the platform's energy focus. The palette - black, white, and a single confident green - keeps it legible at every size, from favicon to full-bleed cover.
The Website
The UI follows a dark engineering aesthetic: near-black panels, monospaced uppercase labels, and the brand green reserved for live values and selected states. Every input updates the mission readout in real time, so the interface feels like an instrument, not a form.
The Outcome
HESSAD launched as a working platform with Google sign-in, team onboarding, and enterprise-grade protection - a complete brand and product experience shipped end to end. The platform is live and in use at hessad.com.
