The Challenge

CraftHouse sells small-batch, handmade pieces - ceramics, weaves, woodwork - where much of the stock is one-of-a-kind. Off-the-shelf Shopify themes couldn't handle that: no proper way to filter by maker or material, no way to save pieces before they sold out, and a slow storefront that hurt the 65% of shoppers browsing on mobile.

What We Built

A custom Shopify theme designed around how people actually browse handmade goods. Advanced filtering by maker, material, technique and price. A wishlist with back-in-stock reminders to recover interest in sold-out pieces. Subscription boxes with pause-and-skip controls for recurring revenue. And aggressive speed tuning - image pipelines, lazy loading, and a trimmed theme - so the store stays fast on 4G.

The Results

The custom build converts at 3.8% - well above typical handmade-store benchmarks - with 65% of sales on mobile, validating the mobile-first, speed-focused approach. The subscription box added a recurring-revenue stream the old theme could never have supported.
